ASPIDISTRAFLY Japan Tour 2012
It is with great pleasure that i announce our
ASPIDISTRAFLY Japan Tour 2012!
We last toured Japan in 2009 around Tokyo and Kyoto, and this time
we will also be making appearances in Tochigi, Okayama and Toyama.
When we first started planning this tour a few months ago,
i remember i had a dream of travelling along bumpy, scenic roads
in Isao Saito’s car along with Ricks and haruka nakamura. It must
have been a deja vu of sorts because the dream was pieced from
fragments of our 2010 trip to Starnet in Mashiko for the Earth
Art Festival. The memories are no longer fresh but still very dear.
Having said that i can’t be more pleased to have our musical
best friend haruka nakamura join us once again for our tour.
My soul sister Janis Crunch will also make a special appearance at
our tour finale and Kitchen. Label Showcase on 12th December 2012.
It is always an amazing experience sharing the stage with her, doubling
our own voices in different octaves. During our show last Christmas,
Junya Yanagidaira of ironomi had lent his sparkle to my live set, and
i’m only too happy to have him join us again.
And so the tour will begin on 17th November, and i await with
bated breath the experience of sharing our songs in each different
city and setting, all special in their own way. I’d like to say a
big thank you to the organisers and our distributor p*dis who so
kindly lent their generous support in coordinating the tour.
